Sam Martyn

Sam has practiced yoga in various forms for eight years. After a series of long-lasting concussions, yoga was a vehicle for recovery, helping Sam to regain physical, emotional, and intellectual strength. She loves yoga and practices it as an expression of her true self.

As a certified Wellness/Health/PE teacher, Sam taught yoga and mindfulness to Needham High School seniors with the goal of providing a resiliency tool box. Sam is taking a 1 year sabbatical from teaching Wellness in Needham to explore the world of yoga more deeply.

Sam completed the 200 hour One Voice Yoga Teacher Training in vinyasa flow. She studied Women's Studies/Psychology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Physical Education at Bridgewater State University, and Health Education at Cambridge College. Sam lives in Holliston, Ma, with her husband, Brian, and her two German Shepherd Dogs.

In her free time, she takes long walks in the woods with her dogs, and loves to ski, sail, and be close to the ocean. Sam has a lot of energy, with a contagious upbeat demeanor. She is dedicated to creating safe, meaningful, and authentic yoga experiences for all students in her class.

Sam Martyn instructs the following:
  • All Levels Flow to Music
  • Vinyasa Flow yoga to music is a vigorous, athletic style of yoga. We focus on connecting breath to movement through a continuous sequence of postures. We stretch and strengthen our body, mind, and spirit!

We practice heated, not hot yoga. The studio is heated to approximately 80-85 degrees. It will feel comfortably warm, allowing you to safely stretch deeply, and you'll sweat from the athletic nature of the yoga. You'll leave feeling refreshed and renewed.

Classes are set to music and teachers prepare their own playlists to reflect their unique styles.

  • All Levels Flow to Music . $10 Community Class* (Drop-in Only, No Online Sign Up)

  • 12.01.17 Divine Vinyasa Dance
  • In this class, Sam will take you through a variety of yoga poses with an added flare of primal body movements. The goal is to awaken the senses while bringing awareness to the body and inner self. Using a musical beat, primal dance is drawn from the body in combination with vinyasa flow. Pairing breath with fluid movement, the practitioner awakens a variety of areas in the body and releases stagnant energy.

This class is accessible to all levels. Come prepared to love yourself, laugh with yourself and enjoy your true nature, just as you are!
